Convergence

Technology has made my home an unwelcome place for guests.

I can think of at least six items right now.

One, computers.
Two, cable television.
Three, home theater surround system.
Four, DVD.
Five, VHS.
Six, DSL.

These things that used to be disconnected have suddently, by my doing I admit, have connected as one. The technology that powers my business now powers the very same objects that surround me in my house.

A good part of my living has always been done from home, but with business being so wicked and contracts demanding confidentiality agreements, those business terms have invaded my home.

Suddenly, any visitor is a possible source of breach of confidentiality. Simple things like turning off a PC in my home slash office now carries serious side effects unheard of before.

And this is just the beginning.
